#57: Celebrity couple faves

The couples below are some of my favorite celebrity couples, whom I think make relationships/love look so good. I admire their relationships on the outside, and I hope it's just as good when they are away from the spotlight as well. There are some of other fave celeb couples of mine but unfortunately some have broken up over the past months and years. I really like seeing these couples below in events and also when they work together, and I hope they stay together for a lifetime.

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith
David Beckham and Victoria Beckham
First Lady Sia Koroma, First Lady Michelle Obama, President Ernest Bai Koroma, and President Barack Obama
John Abraham and Bipasha Basu
Tamela Mann and David Mann

#55: I am imperfect

In a previous blog post, I mentioned challenging myself with two things in the month of April. So this is a quick update and the news is that I have failed miserably at it, and I'm a bit disappointed in myself. I am partially to be blamed because there have been free times when I could write a poem, but I did not utlize it, or could've uploaded a song that I like for the other challenge. However, I've been quite busy with school and don't have much time to post things, but I did make some time to write some entries in Rujizzle's World Dear Diary...

I think one of the reasons why I haven't been very proactive about the poetry challenge is because I haven't had time to sit and reflect like I have in the past, which usually leads to writing a poem. Nonetheless, I will try my very best to write some poetry, because when I make a promise to myself, I make sure it is fulfilled. But I have had ideas to write two poems, which I did title, but just haven't written the body as of now.

I feel really guilty about this all, but that's good because it's a mechanism that I can use to motivate me to write and stick to my ongoing regimen. Although I haven't stuck to my two promises, I have been dancing a lot lately and enjoying them all. The picture below is from a belly dance show I performed at last weekend, and I had a lot of fun with the choreography with my talented and beautiful dance partner.

#54: April challenges!!!

Being the type of person that indulges challenges and is fond of adventure, I have decided to challenge myself in the month of April with two things.

#1: In commemoration of National Poetry Month, I plan to write a new poem everyday till the end of April. I am 6 days late, but I've got 24 more days in the month. This is going to be one of the most challenging things I've ever done before but I know I can do it. Writing poetry is one of my passions, and over the past few months, I've been writing some poetry and monologues. I think what's going to be more difficult for me in this challenge is finding inspiration for the poems, because I write from inspirations and can't just randomly say stuff. However, I am surrounded by so many things in life so I know I can find inspiration from those things.

#2: I came across a song challenge thing today, and I plan to do that on this blog. With the fact that my 30 Days Photo Challenge was such a success, I have decided to embark on another "Challenge" journey. I'm a huge fan of music, so this should be easy for me (hopefully).

P.S.: As much as I will like to show you all that I am going through Challenge #1, I do not want to post my original compositions on the internet. Reasons being that: (1) I like to perform my composition at least once in public before releasing them in print. (2) I do not want them retrieved by someone who uses it without giving me credit for being the poet. Plagiarism is prevalent in our society, and even I am guilty of it, but it hurts a lot when you're the writer of course.

#53: RED!!!

Many people that are acquainted with me know my obsession with the color RED! I am absolutely love the look of the color, regardless of the connection it has with my name. I feel it's partly because of my family's fault because I was dressed in that color a lot when I was younger and associated with the color a lot.

Personally, I love RED because of how bold, beautiful and vibrant the color is. RED is sometimes applied as a dangerous and evil color, but I refute those claims. I think RED is color that embodies strength, power and courage, no matter what experts may define it as. Just to name a few things, I love RED so much that even my laptop is RED, now that's what I call dedication :)

Mars is my favorite planet because of its RED color, even though geologically, the RED color is due to chemical weathering (oxidation) as a result of rust.

According to Wikipedia, "Red is used as a symbol of guilt, sin and anger, often as connected with blood or sex...The color red is associated with lust, passion, love, and beauty as well. The association with love and beauty is possibly related to the use of red roses as a love symbol. Both the Greeks and the Hebrews considered red a symbol of love, as well as sacrifice." In addition, "Red is used as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, as in blood spilt in sacrifice or courage in the face of lethal danger."

Whether defined as good or bad, RED will forever be my favorite color!!!

#52: The supermodel is BACK!!!

So back in high school, I was known as the girl who took too many pictures, and always walked around with a camera. I had so many pictures on my computer and myspace profile, it was crazy! But, I don't know what exactly happened but I stopped taking so many pictures as I used to. It's not that I lost interest in photography or posing, I just had a feeling that I've taken all the pictures I could in life; but, I still carry around my camera for the purpose of capturing important moments and upon meeting someone amazing.

Lately, it seems my photography obsession has resumed because I've started taking many pictures again, and camera is beginning to pile up. I've been attending many events and having performances, so that has triggered my love for photography.

I just returned from a belly dance show hosted my University's belly dance troupe, which I am a member of, and I had a couple of performances. I had so much fun in it, and it just took me to one of my happy places that dance always takes me to. Upon returning from the show, I decided to take some pictures with my webcam; also, I wanted to show-off the make-up my mom did for me before my performances.

The pictures are shown below, and I hope you like them, because I had lots of fun taking them.

#51: Now what?

I was just viewing some pictures of one of my favorite women celebrities and her pictures were absolutely stunning. While viewing her glamorous, modelesque pictures I realized that her pictures were all focused on her body, rather than her personality or entrepreneurship. She has branded her body, and tends to represent several products based on what she looks like now. So I started thinking, when she is twenty years older than she is today and does not have the same body anymore, now what? What happens to her career?

Being a model is a great job, but I do believe that it is essential to have several back-up plans especially when in a career that mostly comprises of body and age. I am sure she will still be gorgeous years from now, but I do not think she will get as many offers as she is now. In an industry that is always looking for new faces and bodies, I think it's very difficult to get too comfortable, regardless of how much one has striking physical features.

I think she is doing great for herself so far, because she collaborates in many areas in the entertainment industry, however, one can tell she is only getting offers based on what she looks like. This overnight celebrity is not really a professional model that is seen in catalogues or does runway, but lots of brands like her to represent them because they know she has a good following of fans who admire her for her beauty and body.  It makes me wonder sometimes how she feels about it, especially knowing the fact the she is not recognized for what she has done for society but for her body.

As for me, I won't deny my reasons for liking her. I like her because she's gorgeous, takes amazing pictures and makes use of her resources. Personality-wise, she's boring and does not seem like a fun person to be around, and I'm also a bit annoyed by the way she talks. In other words, it's one of those people that I believe follows the trend of "it is who you know and not what you know," because besides being photogenic, I have yet to see any other talents of hers even though she's branched into other parts of entertainment like music and acting, and I think she has been unsuccessful in both.
